Why did you decide to join Shionogi?

The chance to build a 21st century pharmaceutical company. I have worked in pharma and healthcare for over 20 years, opening, closing and reorganising businesses. Shionogi offers a really great challenge to create an organisation that is fit for purpose now and not the way we would have done it in the 1970’s.

What is your favourite Shionogi ‘way of working’ and how do you try to live it each day?

The way that we work collaboratively – one team, without egos or politics.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Work on a lifeboat, but then I found out that it was advisable that you were able to swim.

How would you describe Shionogi Limited?

A young dynamic pharmaceutical company here in Europe, with a wise, knowledgeable parent in Japan that is committed to us and gives us the room to grow.
